I think there's prior art for this... in a business plan that was submitted as supporting documentation for US 7089498. The business plan describes a wide range of direct to consumer products and services (comparing annotation across user groups, genealogy, research, gaming, art, social networking applications etc. It's dated in 2000. The claims of the patent were limited to mapping the genome 2d and 3d along with annotation.. but the filed business plan covered many topics related to personal DNA.
