This patent application seems to be trying to patent the combining of data sources, at least one being a shipping data source, and running algorithms to output various information. Hasn't the US government been doing this for a LONG time? It seems like this is trying to patent basic procedures like combining data sources to reveal more information. Also, various Coast Guard organizations around the world have been doing several of the things listed in this application since the 90s, I'm pretty sure. And what about websites like MarineTraffic.com? Or Vesseltracker.com? They've been combining ship positions with other data for a while. Their free sites are used by hobbyist ship watchers but they have paid versions that add all kinds of extra data sources and I'm sure they use the minimum "at least one vessel," "at least one satellite," and "at least one data center" to output their product.
