There is no way this patent have been granted if the prior art had been cited. The applicant should have cited prior art, specifically the hoops that were designed and manufactured by both George Way and Camco and which the applicant would have had knowledge of considering they purchased the machines and tooling used to produce these hoops from Camco.

The hoop design appeared in several catalogs and that information is available online. A link to one such catalog that shows the prior art can be viewed here:
