I am a software developer, recently made redundant (due to a general decline in the "wholesale voice minutes" business), at Telecom New Zealand International.

I am currently looking for a new job, ideally programming in Python or Ruby (both of which I am reasonably familiar with) but I am open to opportunities involving some other interesting modern high-level open-source programming language that I haven't learned yet.

Locations considered are: Wellington New Zealand, any large city in Australia, maybe in the UK, US or Canada (for the last two, if the employer can arrange immigration).

I also have a moderate mathematical background, including a BSc(math) from University of Waikato.
