Who gets a "patent grant cover" from the USPTO?

Does the "ribboned copy" get sent to overseas inventor/assignee (at recorded overseas address) by USPTO if such person gets a 'patent grant' for a patent application persued pro se at USPTO ?

  • When contacted, Application Assistance Unit (AAU) of USPTO replied that it has been mailed through US mail to India on October 09, 2018. I am yet to receive the same. – AD Adhikary Dec 20 '18 at 6:11

We have the same situation! Did you obtain the US Patent Certificate? If yes, when did you get it? Thank you for you answer!

  • Negative. The "ribboned copy" (original) has not reached yet. And honestly speaking I don't expect it to reach in times to come. There is no way to confirm whether it was posted except reply mail from USPTO. Neither there is any way to track whether the mail left the US and reached India. Only option left is to pay for a certified copy. There is no guarantee that (the certified copy) will reach the patent owner. So, as proof of one's patent to down load pdf of issued patent from PAIR or from google, is (to me) the best option. – AD Adhikary 22 hours ago
