Hands-on physicist/electronic-engineer/programmer; sci+tech consultant / product development. Broad tech experience including display-screens and digital imaging, light and colour sensing and measurement, touch-screens, "instrumentation", sensors, medical device development... Have filed 10 or so patents through my employers (through professional patent lawyers) over the past decade. Occasionally read patents as part of my work.
I guess I have a suspicion that too many trivial or "obvious" ideas are being patented (and fear that this will obstruct genuine innovation), although I don't have any concrete evidence of it!
